One more
Autumn treat, this one coming from Shinjuku Gyoen,
where the Japanese garden was crying out all its colors, ranging from the gold of
the ginko trees to the red of the maple leaves. It was already a bit late for some
trees, which had already lost all their leaves, but the other colors of the trees
were just radiant.
After the rain
yesterday, the Japanese winter light was just perfect and it seemed it was softly
wrapping the leaves of the park for this short period of time, when all
photographers are out to capture the magic. I was out too for this purpose, I
had planned this for several days and couldn't be happier that today was such a
wonderful day.
I couldn't believe either that I was so dumb not to have checked my pack
before... I didn't realize that I hadn't recharged my batteries after my trip
in Sydney: after a few shots, all my batteries died on me! I started to rush
for a camera store to get a new battery, but when I got there, the clerk told
me that the battery wouldn't be usable right away and that I would have to charge
it anyway.
I ended up trying to combine batteries to make the most of the remaining power, turning on and off my camera all the time in order not to use the battery, not use the autofocus, etc. Fortunately, they made it until the rest of the day, but I felt so stupid when it happened... I'm wondering if someone came up with some adaptor for Canon digital cameras that would accept regular batteries.
