A classic but I always find beautiful the rays of light left by the speeding cars in the night.
The street is the Aoyama Dori, also known as route 246 (by Fred only who persists calling roads with numbers instead of their real names ;-)).
I also took another pictures that night, with a longer exposure time, the numbers of cars made the road look like an urban river, but unfortunately, I didn't have my tripod with me and it was a bit too blurry to display.
The next day, I also took pictures of Eiko, as we were walking around in Omotesando.
No medal, no podium for today's record. On the other hand, I think a lot of people will remember today as being one of the hottest days of the year, with 39.5C at its peak.
Actually, it is the warmest day ever recorded in Tokyo, the last record being in 1994 with only 39.1C.
From Japan Today News:
TOKYO An unprecedented heat wave hit Tokyo on Tuesday morning, with the mercury hitting an all-time high for the capital at 39.5 C shortly before 1 p.m., topping the previous record of 39.1 C recorded Aug. 3, 1994, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.
The new high was logged at 12:58 p.m. from an observation point in central Tokyo's Otemachi business district as temperatures soared in the Kanto-Koshin region in eastern and central Japan while a high-pressure system blanketed the Japanese archipelago, the agency said. (Kyodo News)
Neat, just what I needed after having moved into an apartment with all windows facing South!
Have you ever wondered what it feels like stepping into a micro-wave?...
I like the evening light that gives a totally different look to things, wrapping object with a smooth and warm light.
All of a sudden, the mere everyday's life objects become subjects of fascination for that short period of time, just before the sun sets.
Those few pictures were taken in our new neighborhood, around 6pm yesterday.
I especially like the texture of stone, which I find always very photogenic.
For those who may have not noticed that little change in this website, I have removed the guestbook, as it had become too popular to spammers and not enough to real fans of this website...
It was taking me way too much time to remove those fake congratulations
messages pointing to commercial sites.
On top of that, my guestbook got hacked recently, which made me realize how
vulnerable that kind of php pages can be for the whole website itself.
The guy who did that had the great idea to delete all previous messages and put an offensive one instead, I won't even mention what was said, that would be too much of an honour for such kind of people.
I am happy to make this website simpler and simpler, but I feel sorry about my friends, who left nice messages that are now lost forever.
It is not the first time this website is hacked, but last time, the hacker was just doing it for the challenge and had made an archive of the whole website before defacing it, so that I could recover the lost page.
As this part of the Internet dies, I'd like to proudly announce the birth
of a much more worthy one: the blog of my
friend Seb.
This blog is so active, it will just take a few weeks before it reaches the
same number of entries as mine!
