I have been guilty of portraying Hong Kong as a crazy city with tall buildings and narrow streets, while leaving aside another one of its important aspects: the countless hikes in the mountains and other green areas.<\/p>\n

Thanks to talented photographer Justin Law and to Canon HK organising workshops for members of the Club Canon, I was able to visit part of the Shing Mun Reservoir in the Tai Mo Shan Country Park. It was nice to see nice water streams, magnificent banyan trees or just greenery lit up on a nice sunny (but very hot!) day.<\/p>\n

This definitely motivates me to explore more of Hong Kong’s nature and I need to plan some hikes while the nice weather lasts (hoping it’s not going to be too hot though!)<\/p>\n

Note for the camera geeks: I’m impressed by the dynamic range my new EOS 5DSR has. On the first picture, the contrast was really extreme but I was still able to extract lots of details in both dark areas in the bushes and bright ones like in the sky or in the trees that were directly exposed to sunlight, no bracketing involved!<\/p>\n
