{"id":176,"date":"2003-09-04T13:23:00","date_gmt":"2003-09-04T13:23:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shiromi.com\/cgi-bin\/blosxom.cgi\/photography\/200309042223.html"},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-29T16:00:00","slug":"variations-on-a-sunflower","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/shiromi.com\/blog\/2003\/09\/04\/variations-on-a-sunflower\/","title":{"rendered":"Variations on a sunflower"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.shiromi.com\/gallery\/justit\/crw_3807_std\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"left\" src=\"http:\/\/www.shiromi.com\/gallery\/albums\/justit\/crw_3807_std.thumb.jpg\"  alt=\"sunflower\" \/><\/a>I bought some flowers for our apartment and I decided to go for a few shots, inspired by the numerous photos of sunflowers you can find on the web.<\/p>\n<p>Those pictures are therefore far from being the most original of this kind but it&#8217;s still an interesting photographic experiment.<br \/> I tried to play with a shallow depth of field to show the same object under different aspects, although the position of the subject didn&#8217;t change compared to the camera:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shiromi.com\/gallery\/justit\/crw_3809_std\">this one<\/a> because I played with the manual focus to show only the ends of the petals, leaving the main subject in a blur, bringing a surprising attention to what is usually left almost unseen<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.shiromi.com\/gallery\/justit\/crw_3812_std\">This one<\/a> is more classical, but I like the way the petals are flying away from the frame, I think it&#8217;s a very dynamic picture<\/li>\n<li>For <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shiromi.com\/gallery\/justit\/crw_3813_std\">this one<\/a>, I played with the manual focus again to show only one plane of sharpness.
