The point where the Colorado river bends in a spectacular manner is another famous location not to be missed if you’re not scared of heights. In order to get a good shot, you will have to get pretty close to the hair-raising cliff, with you and your tripod standing just a few centimetres away from a 300m drop.

I was lucky to arrive just in time for the sunset and to find a good location in the middle of some other dozens of photographers. Additionally, the sky had the perfect set of clouds for a dramatic sunset: July is the monsoon season and thunderstorms are quite frequent, so it’s an all-or-nothing game where you may be unlucky and go back home with dull pictures or beautiful tormented skies. That day, the Gods of photography granted me a great opportunity to capture this beautiful scene.
