I’m just back from my trip to India, originally a business trip but I took the opportunity to make my first visit really worthwhile and took a few days off to go around the northern part (Delhi, Agra, Jaipur). I was very pleasantly surprised by how warm people are (I even made a few friends on the way!): they not only usually don’t mind having their picture taken, some people will come to you to ask you to take their picture, even though they will never see it on anything else than the crappy screen on the back of the camera!

Food is also absolutely fantastic! Why can’t we find similar quality in HK (or elsewhere as a matter of fact)? I had lunches and dinners at “dhabas” (roadside restaurants), it costs close to nothing and it is awesome! I also surprised myself having vegetarian food for 5 days in a row and not craving for meat at all. There is so much diversity in the food and it’s simply so good, I just couldn’t get tired of it!

To start this new series of pics, I have to start with a picture which doesn’t shine by its originality but I cannot think of not taking the shot, as it’s so emblematic. No matter how much you’ve heard about it, how often you see it in pictures, the Taj Mahal always impresses and it’s hard to give it justice in a photo. Anyway, this one was taken at sunrise, when the crowd was still manageable.
